Rules & Regulations
This contest is open to residents of Canada; and who have reached the age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside and hold a valid provincial driver's license for the operation of an automobile on or before the Contest Closing Date. Other than as noted above, this contest is not open to the employees and representatives of Home Hardware Stores Limited (“Sponsor” or “HHSL”), Toyota Canada Inc. (“Toyota”), their agents, dealers, parent, affiliated or related companies, partners, or subsidiaries; as well as any person living in the same household as such persons, and RESIDENTS OF QUEBEC or residents of any other jurisdiction where this contest is prohibited by law or requires registration or licensing. Toyota is not a sponsor or co-sponsor of this contest.
By entering this contest, the winner is deemed to have authorized the use of their name(s) and/or photograph(s) and/or image(s) and/or voice(s) by the contest organizers, if the contest organizers so desire, for advertising, promotional purposes and/or for general news or entertainment purposes at no compensation to the winner. The contest starts at approximately 9:00:00 am Eastern Time (“ET”) on November 1, 2016 and ends at 11:59:59 pm (ET) on January 31, 2017 ("Contest Closing Date"). There will be a total of one (1) Grand Prize awarded.
a. With Purchase: During the Contest Period, visit any participating Home Building Centre or Home Hardware Building Centre dealer (“Dealer”) across Canada (excluding Quebec) and purchase any Beaver Homes & Cottages materials package (“Package”). To be eligible, Agreement to Purchase must be completed by the “Contest Closing Date and an initial non-refundable deposit (“Deposit”) towards the Package must be received by the Dealer. One (1) ballot per each fully paid $500 CAD increment of the Deposit. Minimum Deposit is $5,000 CAD and maximum Deposit is the maximum purchase price of the Package. Mail a copy of the Agreement to Purchase and/or deposit receipt to: Home Hardware Stores Limited, C/O Beaver Homes & Cottages Win a Toyota Highlander Contest, 34 Henry Street West, St. Jacobs, ON, N0B 2N0. All mail-in entries must be post marked no later than January 31, 2017 and received before the Draw Date.

Without Purchase: On a plain piece of paper, hand-print your full name, complete mailing address (including postal code), daytime telephone number (including area code), hand-write a 100 word or more original essay on “Which Beaver Homes & Cottages Model is my Favourite and Why”, and mail to: Home Hardware Stores Limited, C/O Beaver Homes & Cottages Win a Toyota Highlander Contest, 34 Henry Street West, St. Jacobs, ON, N0B 2N0. Email, faxed, or other electronically submitted entries will not be accepted. One (1) ballot per essay. One (1) essay per entrant. All mail-in entries must be post marked no later than January 31, 2017 and received before the Draw Date.
PRIZE:
GRAND PRIZE: Entrants are eligible to win one (1) Grand Prize (the "Grand Prize") consisting of one (1) 2017 Highlander XLE AWD - With SE Package (Anticipated Manufacturer's Approximate Suggested Retail Value (MSRP) is $45,000 (however the vehicle MSRP will not be finally determined until November 2016 at which time the confirmed MSRP will be released on www.toyota.ca. Sponsor is not responsible for any difference in the Anticipated MSRP and the final MSRP. Prize includes MSRP, Freight & PDI and all applicable fees and taxes. The winner shall be responsible for vehicle insurance, license, and registration. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any part of the Grand Prize with one of equal or greater value. The Grand Prize must be accepted as described in these rules and cannot be transferred to another person, substituted for another prize, redeemed for cash value, or exchanged in whole or in part, except in the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Any costs or expenses incurred by the winner in claiming or using the prize will be the responsibility of the winner.
CONTEST DRAW DATE: The contest winner will be randomly selected by contest organizer on or shortly after February 20, 2017 from among all eligible entries received on or before the Contest Closing Date. Odds of being selected as a prize winner will be dependent on the total number of eligible entries received during the contest period. Contest organizers will attempt to contact the selected entrant after the draw by telephone or email within seven (7) business days following the draw. In order to be declared the winner, contest winner must first answer, unassisted, a time-limited mathematical skill testing question In the event that a selected entrant is disqualified from eligibility, does not correctly answer the mathematical skill testing question within the time limit. cannot be contacted by contest organizers within seven (7) business days following the draw, the contest organizers shall have the right to disqualify the selected entrant and redraw another entrant as an eligible prize winner and the contest organizers shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility of any nature and kind to any previously selected entrant in this regard. By entering this contest, the entrants automatically agree to accept and abide by these rules.
GENERAL REGULATIONS: Entries are subject to verification by the contest organizers. Entries that are illegible, mutilated, changed or altered in any way shall be deemed void and rejected. The judges' decisions shall be final and without appeal. All entries are the property of Sponsor and none will be returned. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for lost, delayed, destroyed or misdirected entries. Sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, falsified, incomplete or destroyed entries and all such entries are void. Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry Information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment software or any combination thereof.
If, for any reason, the draw is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or the proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond their control, Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the draw, including cancelling any method of entry, and selecting a winner from previously received eligible entries. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the rules or otherwise in a disruptive manner. Any attempts to deliberately damage the Contest or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent of the law. Sponsor shall not be held responsible for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest.
The prize must be accepted in the form in which it is awarded, it may not be transferred or traded. By entering, entrants acknowledge that they have read these official rules and agree to abide by the official rules of the contest and decisions of Sponsor, which are final. The winner shall agree to waive all liability against Sponsor and Toyota for any damage or prejudice arising out of or resulting from the awarding and use of the prize or this contest. The winner must sign a legal declaration and waiver of liability to this effect before claiming their prize. If a potential winner fails to sign and return the waiver form within 11 days of its receipt, Sponsor reserves the right to void that entry and select another eligible entrant .This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. No correspondence will be entered into except with entrants requesting rules by mail or requesting names of the Grand Prize winner (for which a self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included).

Personal information collected from entrants will only be used by the Sponsor to administer the Contest and, only if consent is given at the time of entry, to provide the entrants with information regarding upcoming promotions and/or events from HHSL.
