My name is Joshua Collins, my family has been in business in Chapleau since 1928. I have just recently got into the business back in May 2012 my background is in electrical and also spent a major part of my life in the restaurant and hospitality industry i have been working hard gaining the knowledge it takes to run a home hardware building center and furniture.
Charles W. Collins Stores Ltd has been around since 1928, it was started out by Charles W. Collins who started out as a general store selling everything that you could need from clothes to hammers to furniture to vehicles, it went this way for quite awhieuntil 1969 when George Collins decided to change over to the home hardware building center and furniture brands.
Things were tight for awhile selling all those products under a 6000 sq foot location with warehouses scattered around town. Until 1987 when my grandfather and father took ownership of pro hardware another building just down the street to add 11000 sq foot plus building a 5400 sq foot warehouse to house all the building material. And to this day still is a family run business with fourth generation Joshua Collins learning the business.
